8/27/2023 0 Comments Epic local pass okemo![]() Vail/Epic is the McSki pass.Īlso Ikon hands down beat epic this year for spring skiing and early season, both in the East and out west. Ikon has better mountains and less crowds and less crappy management, imo, if you can afford it and the locations are convenient. Too many places to mention and no pass has a clear advantage (besides whatever would be closest to you). Killington has best terrain park out east, then Sugarbush, Sunday River, and Windham aren’t too far behind.īreakdown of Indy vs Epic vs Ikon on East Coast S Tier - Jay Peak, StoweĪ Tier - Killington, Sugarbush, Mont Tremblantī Tier and Lower Tiers - Rest of Indy, Epic, and Ikon begin here. ![]() Want to ski Jackson Hole - Go with full Ikon Pass This is the Mecca of skiing, but you better be a true expert before coming here.Īre you a Park Rat - Go With Ikon Base or Ikon Full. Plus you could go to DV if you want to be at a mountain with a large base area and ski town.īig Sky is 5000 acres, has a good balance of terrain, and is less crowded than anything I’ve mentioned (except Telluride). ![]() Snowbird-Alta, Brighton, and Solitude are extremely snowy (450+ inches a year) and there’s over 10000 skiable acres and a great balance of terrain between these 4 and nearby Deer Valley. Skiing UT or Big Sky - Go with Ikon Base Pass. Telluride is awesome and worth the price difference if you haven’t been to Epic’s resorts in Central CO or Whistler. Skiing out west and committed to Telluride - go Full Epic Pass. You could also go to Whistler, note I personally find Whistler’s blacks tend to run harder than most places and you should be a true expert if you want to do their double blacks. These 4 in Central CO are geared towards beginner to advanced skiers (true expert stuff a little limited), but there’s over 12000 skiable acres so you can find plenty of stuff Would recommend linking a trip between Beaver Creek, Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone. Skiing out west but not committed to a place - get Epic Local Pass. ![]() Indy has shorter lines than Epic and Ikon (Ikon is only marginally shorter than Epic) Pro tip: could buy more than 1 Indy Pass if you want more than 2 days at each mountain. I’m assuming you live between Boston and Concord NH, so if you need a mountain for quick laps after work you could get a Pats Peak season pass with the Indy Pass Add-On. The best mountains out west would be SSS to SSSS tier in comparison to Stowe or Jay. Lol.Īre you planning on skiing anywhere out west? Let that dictate the pass you want. Snow Sport offers the largest selection of slopeside ski lodging at the best prices! Amazing low price lodging starts here.Want to say asking which pass to get is the best way to incite a long discussion on this Reddit.
